The major web browsers differ somewhat in functionality, and they are updated frequently. Many visitors use outdated versions of various web browsers, which means your code might not be supported. Also, everyone doesn’t enable JavaScript on their browsers. Your website may not have any functionality to offer these types of users as a result.

Use a newsletter to gain repeat visitors. This is great for captivating someone whom may have viewed your site, but then gone on to forget about it entirely. Put the form in a convenient sidebar, and track the users who subscribe. You should then only send your newsletter to people who have requested it, or individuals could sue you for unsolicited emails.

Don’t include pop-up windows when designing your website. While these might seem valuable in some instances, most people think they are rather annoying. When you add pop-up windows to your website, you run the risk of frustrating people to the point that they won’t come back.

When the time comes that you must choose your webpage’s background color, be mindful of the effectiveness and conservative choice that white is. Using white helps visitors be able to read your website, and gives your site a more professional look. Conversely, complex backgrounds distract from your content and make your site seem much less professional. Simple backgrounds are generally better.
